We’re excited to announce the release of Artillery Pro v2 as well as some other changes that make Artillery Pro even better. 🎉
More Power and Simpler Pricing ⚡
We have simplified our pricing plans by combining them all into one (down from three), but keeping the price of the old starter plan. What exactly does that mean for you?
If your team used to be on the Starter plan - you will now benefit from extra features (like being able to run larger scale tests - see below) which used to be available on more expensive plans at the same price of $199/month.
If you’re on the Medium or Large plan you’re going to see your bills drop by ~50-80%. (Leaving your team with more money which could be spent on… burritos? new coffee machine? books for the team library? the options are plenty.)
Run Large Scale Tests 📈
There are no limits on the number of workers you can use anymore (other than those imposed by the underlying AWS infrastructure, the laws of physics, and the payment card on file with your AWS account of course). Our mission is to help teams ship scalable and reliable systems, so you should be able to generate as much load as you need to – and now you can! 10, 20, 50, or 100 workers - it’s up to you and how much load your systems need to be able to handle.
What else is new in Artillery Pro v2?
Don’t we all love improving performance? We sure do. We’ve been busy improving a large number of small things behind the scenes, which should result in an overall better experience when using the run-cluster command. Better, faster, stronger. 💪
We’re also very excited to announce that Artillery Pro can now be deployed to an extra 9 AWS regions to extend coverage in North America and Europe, and introduce several Asia/Pacific regions including Mumbai, Tokyo, Seoul, Sydney and more. Artillery Pro supports a total of 13 regions now. See the full list here. Test your applications regardless of where in the world they may be deployed. 🌎 🌍 🌏
We’ve also streamlined the UX for users who run tests with the artillery CLI, both humans and robots. The CLI installation does not need to be activated anymore, and all access control is done through IAM roles (just like with an AWS native service accessed through the aws CLI). 🛡
There’s more, but there’s only so many words we can put in this email and expect you to read. See the full changelog for more details. 📄
How Do We Upgrade?
Upgrading to v2 is seamless with the built-in deploy command (formerly known as setup-pro), which will take care of upgrading the Artillery Pro backend deployed in your team’s AWS account. Check out the updated deployment guide to see how easy it is.
We hope you enjoy this new release. As always, if you have any questions or comments just drop us a line on firstname.lastname@example.org. We’d love to hear from you.
